An ancient Japanese art with a New Zealand flavour. Mrs Ruth Scott, of Wellington, with an example of ikebana which uses local materials. Mrs Scott will give a display of this form of
Japanese flower arranging at the Canterbury Museum’s lecture theatre this evening. She has been studying the art for almost 20 years and is the New Zealand adviser for the International Ikebana Associ-
ation, of which she was president for two years and a half. Mrs Scott studies at the Ohara School of ikebana for seven years while living in Tokyo, where her husband was New Zealand’s ambassador to Japan.
