Share prices took another battering on Australian stock exchanges yesterday as -. uncertainty over interest rate rises, and a lack of direction in overseas commodity prices prompted another, sell-out.

TNT, .with an 80 per cent profit increase to $20.8 million .in the half-year, was steady at 2.42 c, and Hooker Corp, which reported,,a 13.4 per cent half-year profit rise to $20.8 million fell 4c to 114 c.

Coal and Allied slipped 60c to 920 c in one of the biggest losses .on the day after reporting a 71 per cent
