Large gain for Fletcher
The New Zealand sharemarket opened the week on a bullish note, but in quiet trading’, yesterday. Market leaders were prominent hr the rises, including Fletcher up Bc, Dalgety N.Z. 4c and N.Z. Forest Products 3c. The N.Z.U.C. index rose 2.36 points to close at 373.74. Among secondline shares, Healing Industries gained a further 5c to 480 c to become one of the most expensive ordinary New Zealand issues on the market, and Progressive Enterprises’s preference shares rose 40c to 600. Going against the trend, T. J. Edmonds eased a further 5c to 370 c.
