Trevira invited to U.S.
PA Invercargill The connections of the fine Southland pacer, Trevira, have received an invitation from officials of the Meadowlands Raceway. New Jersey, for their gelding to take part in a three-race international series in May. “I don’t think we will be going, but it was an honour to be invited,” Trevira’s trainer, Mr Ron Hamilton, said at the week-end. “Being a gelding,’ we would be at their mercy a bit if something went wrong and we had-to. sell him at theirprice over there.” Trevira, gallant runner-up in ■ the New Brighton cup and an unlucky fourth at Washdyke on Saturday, returned to Mr Hamilton’s Heddon Bush property on Sunday. “He looks a picture and really knows he is home — he is out on the grass,” said Mr Hamilton. If, as seems certain, Trevira, does not travel to the United States, Mr Hamilton will prepare him for the Easter Cup at Addington. Earlier, invitations were extended to the connections of Lord Module, Locarno, and Graikos, to race at Meadowlands.
