Silver theft remand
PA Auckland A chpomium-plater climbed through the window of his workplace and stole five bars of silver valued at $l7OO each, the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland heard. Raymond Arthur Snookes, aged 22, of Sandringham, admitted stealing the silver. He was convicted by Mr J. H. Hall, S.M., and remanded to March 4 for a probation report and sentence. Counsel, Mr M. Ring, said
that the defendant had entered the factory because he thought there might have-been somebody inside. Once he. was inside, the temptation ■ was too great for him?'. Sergeant G. Narbey said that the defendant was running past the factory, then went in and took the silver.
