D.I.Y. road project
PA Hamilton A seven-year wait to have
a country road improved was too long for farmers of the Ngapaenga district, near Te Kuiti; they rolled up their sleeves, and have saved the Waitomo District Council about $20,000. The farmers finished their voluntary stint last week and the council has begun metalling. The road kept “falling off” the yearly works programme, said the council engineer (Mr D. Muir).
