Rowell leads runners
Dave Rowell (University) has an unbeatable lead on the points table for the Canterbury road-running committee’s championship. With one race to be run, Rowell has 39 points. The Rovers club runner, Brendan Daly, has 27 points and Mel Radcliffe , (New Brighton), 20. Sharing fourth place are Brenton Joyce (St Martins) and Gavin Donaldson
(Christchurch), both with 19 points. Ann Rigg (St Martins) needs only to start in the Teddington to Diamond Harbour road race on March 22 to take first place in the women’s section. She has 35 points, followed by her clubmate Margaret Walker, with 30; Diane Stead (Technical), with 28; and Beverley Tweedie (Christchurch) and Lorraine Buick, both with 19.
