Theatre chase
A “flaming bottle” thrown through an office window of the Theatre Royal failed to disrupt the Split Enz concert last evening. The incident occurred just after 10 pan. and was unnoticed by most of the 1400 people at the concert. The police said the bottle failed to explode and caused little damage to the.room?■
At the same time a fire was lit in the men’s lavatory at the theatre. A man running from the scene was apprehended by a member of the public, but escaped and ran off along Press Lane- • He was caught by the police at the comer of Worcester Street and Cathedral Square and is helping the C. 1.8. with their inquiries.
