Cause of school fire not known
Fire-safety officers are trying to find the cause of the fire which badly damaged a classroom at the St Martins Primary School early yesterday. . Flames were leaping through the roof of the 10m by 8m «; detached wooden building when firemen arrived soon after 1 a.m. Appliances from the Spreydon and Woolston fire stations " attended, but the blaze had such a firm hold that the classroom was gutted. Children from an infant class will be taught in the school hall until another classroom can be found.
