Arbitration Court judge appointed
PA> .Wellington A Wellington barrister, Mr D. S. Castle, has been appointed a judge of the Arbitration Court. ■ His -appointment, . announced yesterday by the Minister ,of Labour- (Mr' Bolger), fills a vacancy. left by the elevation of Judge J. R. P. Horn to the post ,of chief judge after the retirement of Chief Judge R. D. Jamieson. Mr Castle, who ,is 55, a law graduate of Victoria University,, was admitted as a barrister and solicitor, in 1950. He hag been a senior partner in the firm of Castle, Pope and Partners. Castle’s legal background equipped him well for the post of a judge of the Arbitration Court at an important time in its role iiv the New Zealand industrial scene.
