Indies recover
The West Indies recovered from a depressing start to take command in the second cricket test against New Zealand at Lancaster Park yesterday. Gordon Greenidge (86) and Alvin Kallicharran (60) added 140 in an unbroken fourth-wicket partnership to leave the West Indies 166 for three wickets when rain ended play at the tea adjournment. The two are
only 22 short of the West Indies’ fourth-wicket record against New Zealand. The New Zealand spin bowler, Stephen Boock, had to leave the field just before the finish, with water on the knee. He had treatment yesterday and will have more today. It is doubtful when he wil be fit to go back on the field. Report, Back page.
