Air crash kills 13
Twelve passengers and the pilot died when a commuter aircraft crashed and exploded at Mascot Airport,. Sydney, last evening. An airport operations spokesman said that the Beechcraft Super Kingair had tried to land after it had just taken off on a flight for Temora. in south-
west New South Wales. First reports said that one of the Beechcraft’s engines failed moments after it took off. The pilot immediately attempted an emergency landing, but a big jetliner was on its final approach to the main runway and was not able to abort its own landing.
