Librarians protest
PA Wellington An interim payment will be made to staff of the National Library Service, who on Wednesday had held a stop-work meeting to consider action in the face of delay in paying out an earlier awarded pay rise. The State ; Services Commission had pleaded- that the delay resulted from computer problems, but the librarians had said the delay was causing hardship, and walked out in protest. More than 250 Wellington librarians have not received wage rises of 10.4 to 28 per cent from last year or their backpay to December, 1978.
