General forecast:,. The cold front over the North Island is moving steadily north-eastwards and should clear New Zealand this morning. It will give a few areas of rain to the north at first and is followed by a southerly flow which will give a few showers in eastern districts of the North Island this morning. The anticyclone over the south Tasman Sea is moving north-eastwards and should move on to New Zea-

land today,-bringing mainly fine weather to most places. The depression over southeast Australia is moving eastwards and its associated frontal system is expected to bring rain to the west coast of the South Island late in the day. Centre forecasts Christchurch, Ashburton, Timaru: Mainly fine. Nelson, Blenheim: Fine. Westport, Greymouth, Hokitika: Cloud increasing.
