Public Notices NOTICE OF INTENTION > TO LAY POISON THE PUBLIC are advised that °n and from the 3rd March, 1980, pollard pellet bait impregnated with 1080 poison will be laid by aircraft on the south side of the lower Ah aura Valley on state forest and private land near Callaghans Ridge for the destruction of opossums. The operation is expected to be completed by March 31,1980. For any further particulars contact the Conservator of Forests, P.O. Box 138, Hokitika. As specified in the Game (Packing and Export) Regulations 1967 Clause 49. (1) the recovery of game meat will not be permitted in or within 8 kilometres of the area where poison is laid. The prohibition win continue for a period of four weeks following completion of the poison operation. Dogs are extremely susceptible to 1980 poison, and may be poisoned through eating pellet bait or carcases of poisoned animals.'
