Shipping News Plans progressing for open day
Plans for the open day at Lyttelton on March 2 are progressing well, according to the commerical manager of the Lyttelton Harbour Board (Mr J. B. Graham). The event is expected to draw many organisations, businesses, and Government departments, and plans are being made to accommodate a considerable Humber of visitors to the port. Mr Graham also told the board’s port development committee that the new model of the port, built last year by board staff, has been getting a good reception wherever it has been on display. . , He said that the model created a great deal of interest when it was placed in the foyer of the Christchurch Town Hall in December. It was returned to the port building last week ana it is planned to display it at the Town Hall again next month during the Manufacturers’ Federation conference on March 26.
