Those who appreciate the very best in music will enjoy the Arts Festival concert by the pianist Sally Mays. Best known in Britain for her performances of contemporary music, Sally Mays has also reached distinction in many other musical fields. The Clarke Scholarship brought her from Melbourne to study at the Royal College of Music, where she won all prizes open to students of the College, including the Chappell Gold Medal. She had played for music clubs throughout Britain and has toured the world giving concerts and recording recitals. Chamber music ensembles with whom Miss Mays has played include the “Mouth of Hermes,” an avant garde music group, and her own trio.
Miss May’s recital is scheduled for March 14 at 1.10 p.m. in the James Hay Theatre.
