Neroli Fairhall outstanding
Neroli Fairhall was the outstanding archer at the Christchurch Archery Club’s annual international F.I.T.A. Gold Star tournament Miss Fairhall set five New Zealand records in the twoday tournament. Over 70m she scored 299 points, and 312 points over 60m. Her total for two 60m rounds was 615. All three totals were records. Her single round score of 1228 and double round total 2423 were also New Zealand records. Each round was of 36 arrows over 30, 50, 60 and 70m.
Miss Fairhall is a member of the New Zealand team to compete in Australia at the end of this month. She is also a member of the New Zealand . paraplegic team to compete in the Paraplegic
Olympics in rhe Netherlands later this year. Anne Shurrock (Ashburton), also a member of the team for Australia, was second to Miss Fairhall in the women’s section and Dave McAuley (Christchurch) won the men’s section with a total of 2373 for the two F.I.T.A. rounds.
