NZPA-Reuter . Vienna Afghanis are paying up to $2500 to buy their i.way out .of Kabul according to two Austrian doctors who brought out a seriously ill Austrian diplomat from Afghanistan. The Austrian. .Charge d’Affaires (Mr Heinrich Kreutel) was admitted to hospital in Kabul on December 16 after suffering a heart attack, but was discharged 10 days later after being told the hospital needed beds, they said. The doctors, a cardiologist, Joachim Huber, and Manfred Berger, a surgeon, flew from Kabul ' with Dr Kreutel • on a scheduled Afghan Airlines flight to West Germany.

They told a press conference later at Vienna Airport that Afghan businessmen on the plane had said passports out of the country could be bought. The Afghan businessmen also told Dr Berger that a lerry carrying 42 Russian soldiers was blown up 20km north-west' of Kabul,- but they had no further details.
