NZPA-Reuter London The 1980 British Lions rugby tour of South Africa will proceed.
The controversial decision was finally reached when officials from England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales met in London
In spite of a last-minute appeai on behalf of the British Government by the Minister of Sport (Mr Hector Monro) confirmation of the tour was given by the Committee of Home Unions.
