After an uncertain start, prices recovered on Australian stock exchanges yesterday afternoon. Record world bullion prices keeping gold issues in the limelight. Brokers said that after the Hong Kong gold market reached SUS6SS an ounce in the morning there was solid demand from both overseas and local buyers for gold scrip. ~ J , This was partly aided by institutions coming back into the market after the Christmas-New Year holiday break, they said.
