Praise for coach driver
Sir, — On a recent journey aboard a motor coach, we were most impressed by the driver-courier, a Mr Gary Palmer, who was certainty a fine ambassador for New Zealand. Our journey was shared with Americans, Australians and Japanese. All were impressed with this driver’s conduct of the coach and the journey. His remarkable knowledge of the whole journey, historical facts, tact and courtesy, and of course
driving skill, were commented on by all. Surely he was a good ambassador for this country. Although the journey was a long one — Riccarton to Queenstown — he made it seem shorter and never did his passengers feel rushed. After experience of
British, Western European and American coachlines, I have never known better service. He was a good advertisement for New Zealand. We need it. — Yours, etc., JOHN LESLIE. December 21, 1979.
