Steel and Tube buys into Blair Reed
Steel and Tube Holdings, Ltd, reports that Pearson, Knowles and Rylands Brothers, (NZ), Ltd, a whollyowned subsidiary of Steel and Tube, has acquired a 60 per cent interest in Biair Reed and Company Ltd, a New Zealand wide distributor of fastening systems. The remaining 40 per cent of the shareholding will continue to be he’d by R. L.
; Button and Company, Ltd. a ■ subsidiary of the Gerrard Co. of Australasia. Ltd, Mel- ! bourne. This acquistion will provide opportunities for further development of markets, both here and abroad, by B'air Reed and its parent companies. The shareholding was acquired for cash, and all necessary statutory consents have been granted.
