Murder charge
A young Dunedin motorcyclist has been arrested and charged with the murder of lan Francis Hampton at Addington on December 21. Steven James Gunn, aged 19, appeared before Mr B. A. Palmer, S.M.. at a special sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at 8.30 p.m. on Monday. He was remanded in
custody to Addington Prison to appear again on January 3. Gunn had been arrested on Monday afternoon after a three-day inquiry by 25 detectives. Mr Hampton, aged 20, was stabbed in the chest outside a house in Braddon Street, Addington, about 10.30 p.m. on December 21.
