General forecast: A trough of low pressure is moving on to the North Island and may become slow-moving over the northeast districts. A warm, moist, northerly flow on its eastern side will bring heavier rain to the Bay of Plenty and the centra' high country. The band of rain will affect the northern half of the North Island but should slowly clear from the more western parts during the day. with a change to cooler south-westerlies. Only scattered rain is expected over Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne though it may be heavy in the ranges. Over south-west-ern parts of the North Is-
