Swingalong may overcome bad draw at Westport
Even though she has drawn unfavourably, Swingalong should be one of the brighter prospects on the first day of the Westport Trotting Club’s annual meeting today.
Swingalong has strong (claims to be a dominating favourite in the Powell Handicap, the middle leg of the on-course treble. She followed up a fourth and two unlucky seconds with a desperately luckless seventh at Motukarara on Saturday. She worked clear when the race was virtually over and flashed up quickly to be going faster than anything at the line. Swingalong is to race on the second day at Westport and then go on to Reefton.i It will be indeed surprising! if she fails to win at least once on the circuit. The hardest for her to| beat today could be Gold: Pack and Early Call, but if | she receives a reasonable run. she should beat them comfortably. I
