Lodging allowances increase
PA Wellington The Minister of Labour (Mr Bolger) has an. nounced an increase in apprentice lodging allow, ances. T’ e allowances are paid to apprentices to help with their accommodation costs when attending block course training in technical institutes away from home. The new weekly allow, ances are $14.50 for firstyear courses, $9.50 for second-year courses, and $5 for third-year courses. The new rates will take effect from January 1. Previous rates payable by the Labour Department w : ere $l3, $8.50, and $4.50.
