Lengthy stint
There are very occasional instances in cricket of a player being on the field for the whole of the match. The short list was nearly extended recently by a St Bede s College boy. Steve ?.IcCormick, He is captain of the college’s first eleven. He fielded during the innings of the Old Boys team, then opened the St Bede's innings and was ninth out with a score of 84. Five minutes later the innings ended. When Old Bovs batted again. McCormick bowled 17 overs on end of me-dium-nace lee-cutters and took four wickets for 21. His team was left 75min to make 87 and scored the runs with a few mmutes to spare. McCormick, opening again, was there at the end with 86 not out. So be was on’y five minutes from a full twoday stint in the field.
