Milk up next month
PA Wellington The price of milk will rise in the New Year. Asked to comment on a television report that milk would rise 3c a 600 ml bottle in January, an official of the Ministry of Agriculture said last evening that the Undersecretary of Agriculture
(Mr Talbot) had announced some time ago that higher handling costs required the price to rise Ic. However, since then there had been additional costs, said the official. The Treasury and his department were studying the question and would make a recommendation to the Government.
