camp starts
The health camp committee withdrew the children from the school on November 9 because it was concerned about the methods of punishment at the school. This was in spite of requests that such punishments be stopped and a teacher be stood down, the committee’s chairman (Mr J. G. Laurenson) said last week. The allegations were made against the headmaster, Mf David Rawson, and his wife? a teacher at the school. Mr Perry said that this | week’s discussions would' form thebasis of a report to ; the Otago Education Board . either today or tomorrow. He declined to say if the three-1 man committee had established whether the com-i plaints against Mr and Mrs Rawson were justified.
