Almanac revised
PA Wellington An improved form of Beaufort wind scale has been included in the latest edition of the “New Zealand Nautical Almanac and Tide Table” as an aid to yachtsmen. The sections dealing with weather forecast areas for New Zealand coastal waters, and the frequency and times of meteorological broadcasts have also been revised. As another aid to yachtsmen, a simplified com-
pass variation diagram Is given together with the sunrise and sunset tables. The bearing table and many of the other tables have been rearranged. There is a section dealing with the policing of New Zealand's territorial w’aters and the exclusive economic zone. The Marine Division's nautical publications officer, Commander F. Hunt, said the revised almanac was now on sale at bookshops.
