Explosion kills man
PA Dunedin A man was killed by a petrol explosion in a Dunedin garage vesterday morning. He was ' Thomas Joseph Forbes, aged 56, of South Dunedin, a sickness beneficiary’, who was inside the garage at his home at the time of the explosion.
Last evening the Dunedin police had not established the cause of the petrol explosion, which is thought to have been accidental. The garage, behind Mr Forbes’s house, was extensively damaged by a fire after the explosion. Firemen had to remove the roof to quell the fire.
