Twigden new All Black
PA Wellington The Auckland centre, Tim Twigden, will replace the Counties’ centre, Bruce Robertson, in the All Black touring team.
This was announced yesterday by the secretary of the New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr Barry Usmar. Robertson, a long serving member of the All Black back-line, damaged his right knee while playing fcfr Counties in the Ranfurly Shield challenge against Auckland, at Eden Park on Saturday. He had to leave the field after 11 minutes. Twigden, aged 24, was considered unlucky not to be an original selection in the 25-man tour party.
He has impressed this year as a player capable of breaching a gap and good on defence and featured in 1 Auckland’s match against Argentina.
