! The first big study of New [Zealand’s land resources has just been completed
The survey, by the Water and Soil Division of the : Ministry of Works and Development, divided the i country into 81.000 plots of iland and assessed their abiljity to sustain production.
Mr S. Walsh, the national! 'Survey co-ordinator said that the Ministry now had a full stocktaking of the country’s! land resources. The survey was done toi heln promote’ planning at all I levels.
North Island worksheets I are available from the Aokautere Science Centre, near Palmerston North, and South Island worksheets from the Christchurch Science Centre.
