Long arm finds one-arms
Bandits, not burglars, were found by the police when they called to check on a ringing alarm at a football club headquarters in Auckland’s western suburbs on Saturday night. There was no sign of life in the clubrooms when the police entered, but a quick search through the building unearthed three “onearmed bandits” — sophisticated poker machines.
The Press Association says that the three machines, illegal in New Zealand, were seized and taken to the Henderson police station.
Inquiries were being made yesterday to determine to whom they belonged.
