Aust. cyclists dominate
NZPA Thredbo New South Wales and Victoria shared the honours in the third Southern Hemisphere Veterans’ pro-am cycling championships at Thredbo yesterday. Veterans from all Australian states and New Zealand rode in the championships which were conducted in snowy conditions. The best performance by a New Zealand rider at i Thredbo was the fourth by ■the 64-year-old Lynn Wood. lof Taranaki, in the 61-and ■ over championship.
Championship w inners for .iNew South Wales were Eddie Spessot of Sydney, 41- ' 45 years, Tony Richards of A.C.T., 35-40, and • Les Jones 1 of Sydney 61-and over. Winners for Victoria were Jim Coyle, of Preston (56i 60). Cecil Cripps, of Chelsea. 51-55, and Bill Dove, of [ Mordialloc, 46-50. New South Wales won the i interstate points competition with 24 points from Victoria 23, Western Australia and i South Australia three each and Tasmania one.
