C. Brough suspended
[PA Dunedin [ Charlie Brough, the Wingatui apprentice was suspended for one riding day, until October 6, for careless riding in the Shepherd Memorial Handicap at the Otago Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday.
Brough, the rider of Hi Roona, was found to have caused a severe check to Panagbr at the 800 m. Alberto Poblete, was fined $lOO for allowing his mount, Rsckford, to move in near the 800 m and crowd Lady Belinda. This in turn caused a check to Dandyman. The judicial committee took into account that the false rail at the 800 m could have contributed to the incident.
Harold Goscomb was fined $3O for allowing his mount, Black Melody, to shift ground when not sufficiently clear and cause a check to Owhata Son at the 800 m point in the Milburn Handicap.
