Film advertisement
Sir, —Last Sunday my husband and I decided to go to a film with our children. On checking the entertainment page of “The Press” on the Saturday we noted that the Westend was filming “Watership Down” daily 2, 5 and 8 p.m. We hesitated: did this mean every day of the week? On checking other advertisements for films, other indicated Mondav to Thursday or just Sunday, but no other film was advertised as open dailv We arrived at the Westend for the 2 p.m. showing and like the manv other natrons on the doorsteps went home disappointed at not having seen the film. The picture
theatre apparently was not open daily as advertised. — Yours, etc.,
B. GOLDSCHMIDT, Rangiora.
September 18, 1979. [The manager of the Westend Theatre replies: “We apologise for any misunderstanding the advertisement caused. It has since been changed.”]
