Ihe t .0. index rose 1.78 points to a new peak for the year of 364.05 on a firm, active Xew Zealand sharemarket yesterday. Challenge Corporation firmed to 230 c in active trading, and Fletcher regained Seto 268 c. Financiers, insurers, stock and station agents, and meat companies were all firmer. Cyclone Industries gained 2c to 114 c after an optimistic annual meeting on Wednesday. Alloy Steel rose 30c to 250 c.
