Bowls title retained
Bill Trembath (St Paul’s) retained his Canterbury Catholic indoor bowls singles title when he beat B. Tweedie (Celtic), 11-4, in the final last week-end. The win gave Trembath his tenth Catholic provincial title, the latter five coming in the last three years. In the semi-finals, Trembath heat D. Khouri, S-6, and Tweedie beat P. Preston. 12-3. The tournament drew 123 entries, from which 44 qualified. .J. i.
