Greymouth stakes up

Greymouth reporter The Greymouth Jockey Club will increase stakes by $5150 for the 1979-80 season, making a total of $54,000 for the three days, against $33,000 five years ago, the treasurer (Mr H. R. Trowland) reported to the annual meeting of the club on Tuesday. Individual stakes are: class 1. 2 and 3 races, $3OOO to $3750; class 3 and 4, $1800; class 3, 4 and 5, $1650; Shantytown stakes, maiden event, $l5OO, class 4 and 5, $1450: class 5, $1350; maidens, $1250.
