F.O.L. election
PA Wellington The general secretary of the Labourers’ Union (Mr W. J. Anton) has been elected by the Trade Union movement to the national executive of the Federation of Labour. Mr Anton fills the vacancy on the national executive created by the election of Mr K. G, Douglas in June as F.O.L. secretary-treasurer. He was one of seven candidates for the vacancy. Mr Anton, aged 48, has been his union’s general secretary since 1977. For more than 23 years he was secretary of the Wellington, Nelson, Marlborough, Westland branch of the union.
