Endeavour still growing
PA Auckland Sales by Endeavour Services Corporation, Ltd (preiousiy NZTS Holdings, Ltd) were 9 per cent ahead in the first four months of die Current year, the chairmen (Mr J. H. Plowman) said at the annual meeting. Sales-growth by the company’s services division had been slower, because restrictions on petrol sales, had reduced hotel and motel occupancy rates, and activity in the motor and related trades, but despite this, sales by this division had shown a worthwhile gain.
Sales by the workwear division for the four months were substantially higher, but the ABM-Wilcocks, drinks dispensing machines, division had not recorded a very large increase. The directors expected increased activity in all divisions, as the company continued to develop by a way of acquisitions, new processes, and new products.
After the recent. James North acquisition that company’s previous sales organisation had been merged into the workwear organisation, and duplicated warehouses
in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch closed. Contracts had been arranged for the group’s heavy-duty vehicle fleet to be converted to C.N.G.
The company’s Auckland laundry premises are already connected to a high-pressure natural gas main, and this would be the location of the new filling station.
Consideration was also being given to an application for a resellers’ licence, so that a C.N.G. filling service could be provided for the public.
