Springston Trophy
Results of the South Island Springston Trophy, held at Omaka Valley, Blenheim, from August 23 to August 25, were: Kaikoura No. I team 1, 191 fault points; Kalapoi 2, 204.60; Hawarden and Walkarl 3, 204.64; Rangiora 4, 210.63; Windsor 5, 238.96; Glencoe 6, 243.22. Kaikoura retained its dressage lead throughout. Thirteen of 34 teams were eliminated after the cross-country event.
