Quiet N.Z. market

The New Zealand sharemarket opened the week on a firm, quiet note yesterday. Market leader N.Z. Forest Products gained 4c to 259 c, although smaller parcels sold for higher prices, but L. D. Nathan eased 2c to 196 c after the Examiner of Commercial Practices (Mr A. E. Monaghan) announced that he would not approve the proposed Nathan takeover for McKenzies (N.Z.). Cooks Wine failed to trade on its higher pront and the doubling of its dividend, while its opposite number, Montana Wines, eased 2c to 138 c.
