National park idea dropped

Parts of south-east Otago are no longer being considered by the National Parks Authority for possible inclusion in a national park. The areas in south-east Otago which were of scientific, scenic, and historic importance were too fragmented to form a national p.irk, said the chairman of the authority (Mr N. S. Coad).
