Child released
PA Auckland A child, aged two, was held at knifepoint by a woman for about an hour yesterday afternoon while the police and a Carrington Hospital officer pleaded with her to release the infant. The police said the woman had been agitated when a female companion told her she planned to leave a house in Hillsborough. The woman, a hospital patient, snatched up a knife and threatened to kill her companion’s child. She was talked into releasing the child after about an hour.
