Nudity complaint
PA Wellington The Broadcasting Tribunal has rejected a complaint by Miss Patricia Bartlett about a TV2 “Access” programme on nudist societies. Miss Bartlett’s Society for the Promotion of Community Standards had complained, saying it had never been so
offended as at scenes of male and female full frontal nudity in the programme. The tribunal upheld the Broadcasting Corporation’s earlier rejection of the complaint. The corporation then said: “The portrayal of nudity, in itself, cannot be classed as automatically obscene or indecent.”
