Carter ' also ignores letters’
Mr Muldoon is not the only person who has been alleged not to bother to read all the letters the Australian Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) writes to him. A recent report in the “Sydnev Morning Herald” says that the United States President (Mr Carter) does not read all of Mr Fraser’s letters. According to the retiring Australian Ambassador to Washington. Mr Alan Renouf, Mr Fraser is an “inveterate letter writer” to President Carter but most of his letters are “virtually ignored.” Mr Renouf said that Mr Fraser had written more personal letters to President Carter than any Australian Prime Minister. He described the practice as “a very cold way of communicating” and said it was an unwise method of conducting foreign relations
