A.G.C. rates raised

Australian Guarantee Corporation (N.Z.) Ltd, has increased interest rates on funds it borrows from the public. The manager for New Zealand (Mr G. J. White)

said the company was increasing rates to enable it to continue its present policy of controlled growth and to meet demands for money to finance expansion of industry and housing in line with the Government’s policies. The new top rate for debenture stock is raised from 13.5 per cent to 14.5 per cent for the three-year term, and the new top rate for unsecured notes is also up 1 per cent to 14.75 per cent for three years.
